People are going hard on the mRNA vaccine. This is a list of the bullshit I’ve seen from the anti-vaxx crowd so far:

• “Messenger” RNA instructs cells to create virus parts
• The mRNA is generated via genetic manipulation
• It contains a microchip created by Bill Gates
• It’s going to make you a leftist/liberal
• It’s an excuse for the police state to codify “papers, please” in the US

Holy shit. Where to start. First of all, anti-vaxxers aren’t even fucking worth my time, they’re lower than low. They’re the intellectual gutter of humanity. First of all, yes the COVID vaccine is mRNA or “messenger” RNA based. Yes, it is a synthesized and isolated segment of RNA that instructs the cells to create only the protein binding sites necessary to generate an immune response. Is it drastically different from a traditional vaccine? Not as much as you’d think. If anything, it’s essentially an incredibly powerful refinement of existing science. The Coronavirus, attenuated or not, instructs your cells to assemble coronavirus parts. Typically the actual virus will instruct your cells to create fully-fledged coronavirii before undergoing apoptosis and releasing hundreds more in a cascade of immune failure. The attenuated virus would do the same, but poorly, typically not resulting in a full infection but the risk of a full infection does exist. The mRNA vaccine instructs your cells to ONLY generate the protein that binds to your cellular binding sites, before sacrificing the affected cell to release those proteins into your body and generate an immune response.

Donald Trump is completely correct; There absolutely is a widespread and concerted effort to kick his ass out of the White House. Myself and 80 million other voters conspired to vote for Biden and ensure that orange bag of dicks is out on his ass January 21st, 2021. As far as “Election Fraud”, it’s not necessary when you’ve allowed a quarter million Americans to just die, all while downplaying the virus. The only fraud is Trump pretending he’s even remotely capable of acting as a sitting president. We’ve seen fifty cases now get shot down. He’s brought fifty court cases forward in various states challenging election results, and zero real victories resulted. Now he’s crying that he’s going to veto defense funding because Twitter made him so pissy. While we’re on the subject; Fuck Ted Cruz and Mitch McConnell as well. They’re worthless trash.

Every single person who entertained the notion that:

• Coronavirus is a hoax
• Shutting down the economy was unnecessary
• “Everyone was going to get it anyways”
• Entire medical establishments were lying about the severity
• Deaths were misattributed or outright unrelated

This asshole is so bent out of shape about his tweets being tagged as “disinformation” that he’s going to draw the ire of the Pentagon just to get his way on “Section 230”. What an absolute waste of skin. These fucktards completely destroyed Fairness Doctrine and basically greenlit the birth of the abomination known as “Fox News”. Now that they’re discovering that their ideals are not shared by the majority, they want to scale back on it and begin regulating private enterprise as a public carrier. Yes, getting rid of Section 230 is ADDING regulation, unnecessary regulation at that. Doing this to the internet would suddenly necessitate a large censorship force the size of the great firewall of China in order to ensure that no companies are suddenly liable for damages with the repeal of Section 230.

I think I need to get myself going on my hobbies again. Every time I have a moment outside of work to do something of substance I find myself vegetating over a TV show or some brainless youtube videos. In the past I would spend considerable amounts of this free time learning something new about computers or electronics. I haven’t done much of that since overhauling this blog to conform to Hugo. I did grab a Raspberry Pi 4 and set it up, but I did a very minimal job of it, and there’s really quite a bit left to go. I’m actually thinking about getting a second Pi 4 to continue on with, as the Pi 4 I’m on currently is acting as a print server. Kinda can’t live without a print server. I’d like to get a 8GB Pi 4 and a 4-6TB external drive and make myself a large storage server. A place to offload stuff to that’s not incredibly important, possibly isn’t backed up in the cloud. I dunno. We’ll see, I guess.

I’m thankful for my kids. They’re awesome little people and I love them. I’m thankful for my family. I’ve both been blessed with family members I’m blood related to as well as dragging people into my inner circle. I’m grateful for Amber, because she’s wonderful and amazing and literally the best. I’m grateful for my career. It has taken me down some really interesting roads in life. I get to be a professional geek. There are a lot of reasons that I’ve been grateful over the holidays, and I don’t take things for granted. I just felt like I had to share these things as they’re the things I’m thinking about.
